Deep
Space Online

New!: Photo section, Kids'
Corner,
& Teachers' Lounge!
Deep Space Online will provide the educational community
with new and exciting information from deep space sciences, as well
as collect relevant information from previous space science projects,
such as Online from Jupiter and Live from the Hubble Space Telescope.
You will have the opportunity to explore deep space with the diverse
group of NASA experts
Deep Space Online takes you where no human has ever
ventured. Scientists share their insight into the physical processes
of celestial objects including how energy, matter and gravity play
a role. The outer planets of our own solar system (gas giants Jupiter,
Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune), other galaxies, stars and multiple
star systems, nebulae, clusters, and black holes are just a few
of the phenomenal things researchers are hoping to unlock the secrets
to. Can you imagine sharing with your students information and images
of the full impact of a blast wave from an exploding star, a flare
from a brown dwarf, or a small galaxy being cannibalized by a larger
one?
Deep Space Online will introduce you to the extraordinary
people who are working to discover the evolution and structure of
our universe. Students will have the opportunity to learn about
these men and women through their online profiles and journals detailing
their work, as well as interact with them through live chats, web
casts, and email Q&A. A background section and teacher support areas
will be available soon. To enhance your exploration of our universe,
NASA photos and images from many different sources will be available,
as well as great background materials and support areas and resources
to help in your adventure in space.
We hope that Deep Space Online proves to be an exciting
opportunity for you to take a peek into the fascinating world of
NASA's research concerning the universe. We are exploring space
right now!
