Meet the men and women of NASA who make the space shuttle fly and learn about their diverse and exciting careers. Peek behind the scenes as these folks train astronauts, prepare the shuttle for human space exploration missions and who are making the International Space Station a reality.
Space Team Online continues to provide lots of opportunities to interact with interesting NASA people. We'll encourage email exchange and host frequent live network events on a Web chat system, and periodically WebCasts add the video dimention to these interactions. We hope you'll feel that you've met (not just read about) NASA's neat folks. The Space Team Online website includes:
* several chats per month * an e-mail service in which individual questions get answered * audio/video programs over the Internet * lesson plans and student activities * collaborative activities in which kids work with one another * areas for students to publish on NASA's Web * background and photo sections * places where teachers can meet one another Curriculum supplements about flying rockets and microgravity experiments are available to help teachers incorporate the lessons of the shuttle into their classrooms. Space Team Online hosts teacher discussion areas to encourage like-minded educators to share good ideas and support one another. This is also a good way to provide feedback and ideas to NASA to improve Space Team Online. As well, student-to-student interactions are being facilitated through space shuttle simulations. Finally, an area on the Web is reserved to display student work relating to human space exploration. We hope that this will prove to be an exciting learning resource for you and your students. We think it will be a great ride. So prepare yourself for blastoff. |
